The bamboo always irritated me.  The little shoots started growing up through the lawn and we were losing control.  I have to say they did hide our hideous fence but something had to pay.  Three escorts not working out put me a little over the edge!

This is what it looked like when I found out.  It has stayed like that ever since…

Fun in the Sun

We had a great time at the park today with some friends we haven’t played with in a long time.  It was so wonderful to be outside and to watch the boys run around…in shorts!  It was so nice when we came home we moved school outside.  We did our reading in the fort.  We love fort schooling!

Better Luck Next Tooth

Mommy, why did the tooth fairy leave my tooth?  Isn’t she supposed to trade my tooth for money?”  Sorry, Buster, you got a lame tooth fairy!  Perhaps if she stopped by at a more reasonable time she would follow common procedures.  Then again, she might not.  Better luck next tooth!

“MOMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!”

2011-03-28_003 Reading time

MOMMY, MOMMY, hurry!!!!  It’s a poisonous snake!!!!!

2011-03-28_005

Of course I was super excited to answer that call!  I went over and looked at it and it did look like a little snake.  We had one a little larger in the front yard a couple of years ago.  Minor heart attack, but I’m okay now.  I assured Ryan it wasn’t poisonous (as if I actually know anything about snakes.)  Daddy got home right after I got a box to put it in.  Does he have timing or what?!  When he picked it up it had little legs.  So our excitement for the day was a poisonous snake harmless lizard.  Suits me!

The real excitement today was losing tooth #2.  Yet again the big one was already coming in.  Good news is that he didn’t swallow it this time.  I’m still waiting for my gap picture though!

In With the New…

Harvey cleaned the tank yesterday.  Our last baby crayfish had died and another fish is on his last leg fin.  So it was off to the fish store for new fish.  Three are orange and black: Buster, Pablo(Panda) and Tim.

My brother stopped by for a short visit.  Both boys immediately jumped on for a piggy back ride and then Erik ran and got a book for him to read to him.  And to think this is the same guy who used to trick me into cleaning his room!

It’s Raining, It’s Pouring!

I’m seriously looking into arks right now.  It absolutely poured today.  Harvey thinks I’m crazy, (obviously) but I think I need one of those sun lamps.  The forecast shows a picture with a little sun on Sunday.  I could cry!  I don’t even mind the little cloud next to it as long as there are no raindrops!  This many days of rain and gloomy weather is not the time for homeschooling moms to be making any decisions about their children’s education!

Speaking of their education, I went to one of the schools I am seriously considering.  I liked a lot about it.  It’s a little more money than the other one and farther away.  Two strikes.  But the teacher had created a very nice classroom, had excellent classroom management, and it looked like lots of great stuff was going on there.  I have to decide if I want to have the school do/prepare everything.  It definitely has some pros to it.  I love preparing and teaching though so I have to think that part out.  After the other school returns from break we’ll visit them too.

How Can It Be That Time Again Already?

Last night I went to another information night.  We have to start making decisions for first grade!  But it’s March!  I have trouble making lunch plans more than a few days in advance.  I’m looking into schools where Ryan would go two days a week and I would teach him the other days.  It’s sounding pretty good right now.  The problem is that I want a school that is a mix of the two I have looked at!  Tomorrow Ryan and I will go visit a first grade class at one of the schools.  Hopefully we can go see the other one when they get back from their week off.  Hope that helps!

Nice Day for the Zoo!

A little chilly for my blood, but we had a very fun day.  We had to take cover a couple of times due to pouring rain, but afterwards the sun came out for a little bit.  We met our friends who just brought home their little boy from Korea.  I forgot to ask if I could put pictures of him up so I won’t today.
