One year ago, at about this time, we got ‘the call’. It was such a shock because we knew our director had just gotten back from Korea and we had only had our paperwork in for two weeks. I answered the phone and she said, “I have a little boy I’d like to tell you about. Would you like to see his picture?” This is the first time we saw Erik’s picture. It’s hard to explain what it is like to open an email to see your child for the first time. It was exciting for sure. Boy was he cute! Getting him home wasn’t as quick or smooth as getting his referral, but we are so happy to have him home.
