She cooks like her mother…
So on Monday Ryan and I had a lengthy allergy appointment. Since he has done very well with eating eggs baked into muffins (every day for the last four months) we decided to try adding powdered milk to the muffins. Like last time, he had to have a skin test and once he passed that (only a small reaction to one muffin) he had a portion of a muffin every 20 minutes for 3 HOURS. Since he had that small reaction at the beginning, the doctor thought he should wait an extra hour after the test before our consultation. He passed though! Which is nice since we sat in a small little room for over 5 hours. And now he gets to eat 2 muffins every day for the next year…That about made us both cry. We are going to try some other things as well. As long as the milk/cheese is baked at 350 or more for at least 15 min. he can try it. Hopefully this will speed up things for him. The allergist was so sure that he would be able to eat eggs and dairy by the time he was 5. Now we are hoping by age 10…
Ryan’s class is studying the Greeks right now. Today I went in to help with the Olympics. The teacher asked me to do an obstacle course for them. I asked Harvey to help me think of what to have them do. Somehow I ended up needing Nerf guns. I have quite a list of why we love our private school. Added to the list: Nerf guns are allowed for shooting targets during the Olympics! That one is just under allowing my kindergartener to bring a Lego that ‘shoots’ a Lego gun from the fighter jet to show and tell. Oh the common sense! It’s so refreshing.
