3 A.M.

So Ryan woke me up at 3 again!  I have been having terrible aches in my arms for a couple of months and my hands were really bothering me, so I couldn’t get back to sleep.  I finally went out on the couch and wouldn’t you know it…I heard that familiar scratching sound AGAIN!  I turned the lights on since Harv had found Rocky in the middle of the floor last time.  I walked towards the kitchen and heard him by my ‘command station.’  I looked as much as I dared in the bins but didn’t see him.  He was between the wall and the cubes…Poor Harv!  Yep, I woke him up again.  He had to move a cube to get to him.

Notice the clock has the small hand on 3!  This guy never rests!

Tonight there are four soda cans on his rack!

As for my arms, it was bad enough last night that I decided I better get it checked.  The doctor isn’t sure, he thinks tendonitis.  I couldn’t think of a thing that could have brought it on.  Gramma thinks it began with digging the ground for the play structure…the symptoms started three weeks after we finished?!  I hope that is it, otherwise it’s blood tests…

About six months ago a friend gave us this Superman costume.  Ryan wouldn’t even try it on for me.  As I was washing the dishes tonight in came the ‘Man of Steel’ himself (and the picture requests!)  If you have a boy a little bigger than Ryan and need a costume for Halloween, let me know.  (Ryan is set on his costume.)

Adventures with Stanley

I started reading the Flat Stanley books, by Jeff Brown, to Ryan quite a while ago.  Poor Stanley had a bulletin board fall on him and it left him, well…flat!  In the story his parents folded him up and sent him on a trip to visit friends.  It’s such a cute story and a fun way to begin talking about geography.  Auntie Gay and Auntie Tess jumped on board our adventure by taking Stanley with him on their vacation to Hawaii.  Lucky Stanley!

A few bumps and bruises, but he looks happy to me!

Beware!  If you mention to me that you are going on a trip…Stanley will be joining you!

Johnny:

So I’m sure you’re aware that Sunday was Johnny Appleseed Day!  Perfect way to end our month.  “An apple a day” is making Mommy want a new theme!!

Auntie Gay called us this morning to see if we wanted to go swimming.  Ummm, YES!!  It was another scorcher today.  I had enough of looking for Erik’s second flip-flop of each pair…so he got to go like this!

Oh, speaking of adventures:

Just guess who Harvey found in the living room (headed to our room) last night at 3am when he was leaving for work!  Ryan moved the can we put on his lid and sure enough, Rocky jumped out again!

Crayfish Races

What can I say…our friends are easy to please!  We had our last movie night for the year.  Harv’s friend dropped off another batch of crayfish and they were quite the hit.  I don’t know who decided to start letting them loose but it soon became a race.  Then I heard one mommy calling for Ryan to come get the one getting too close for comfort.  You know that just gets a 5 year old thinking!  I finally had to take them away from him ( for their safety), which is kind of ironic since they ended up in pot of boiling water.  So the crowd was divided, those who liked watching Harv throw them into to their deaths and then eating them, and those who just ran…  While the kids watched the movie, most of the guys stood around the kitchen eating the crayfish.  It was a fun night!
