Feeling trapped?
A journal for friends and family to follow our life with our boys, Ryan and Erik, and our little girl Megan.
Last night we went and saw a Charlie Brown play. It was a really fun outdoor theatre. Let’s call it small intimate. Erik lasted a good hour. Unfortunately, the play was an hour and twenty minutes. He got to bowl on the phone for the last act. Ryan and I loved it and want to do another. Harvey got his fill! Looks like he’s in charge of baseball games and I’m in charge of plays. So be it!
The star was really Lucy. She not only looked like her but played the part really well. It was hard accepting that much thick brown hair on C.B.
Of course the memories will be of the stop at the yummy local ice cream shop. Ryan couldn’t have been happier to see that they had something he could eat. I had prepped him that they might not and he might have to wait until we got home. He’s such a trooper!
Yes, he ate it all…all that ended up in his mouth. He would have gone after mine if I hadn’t been so quick!
Seriously, is this not the cutest camera bag ever?! I have been trying to get one since before my birthday (Feb.) but they sell out in about two minutes (I mean that literally) every time. I finally got Harvey on it and he got it the second time he tried. Looks like the camera will be going with me everywhere again! : ) So, “Happy Birthday” to me in July!
What a day! The boys went to Gramma’s from 10am until she brought them home at 5pm! It was glorious. I had an uninterrupted phone call with a friend in Wisconsin, went to lunch with Harvey, cleaned and organized the laundry room (most of the day) and worked on Ryan’s kindergarten book. The best news is that Gramma said we could do it again!
It took a long time…but these fun sheets finally went on sale.
Yesterday at church we had a ‘family celebration’ day. They had bbq sandwiches, hot dogs, salads, dessert, and lots of fun. There were jump houses, games and…a dunk tank. Ryan was all over that! For $1 you got three balls to dunk one of the pastors. Auntie Gay gave him his first dollar. On his first throw he dunked one of the music leaders. Next up, one of the teaching pastors. He dunked him twice in a row. Third time up he dunked him once, even after having to back up. When the kid is hot…he’s hot!
Harvey had gotten tired of catching so he let him throw against the fireplace(which has two large windows on either side.) Harvey’s response:
“I didn’t think he would be THAT off.”
Fortunately, he only broke the outside pane(which is quite large though.) Does it bring back memories Dan? At least my brother used to clean the house before my mom found out!
We had a very fun day at the museum with our very special friends.
I love this photo! When Ryan was a baby a guy in line at Costco told me, “He looks just like Curious George.” And of course I said, “I know!” Same brown eyes, hairline, and you know…curiousness.
Speaking of naughty curious monkeys…
and then posed with his foot up! : )
