Soccer and Shoeboxes

IMG_3016

2010-11-06_002The last game of the season is tomorrow and I am quite happy about it. I missed every game in October and I still got my fill. I like everything about being a baseball mom, but I find it very difficult to get interested in soccer even with my own child playing. Ryan has had a great time though and enjoyed being on a team with a new friend. No more sports until Spring!

2010-11-06_061Two of our crafty moms made this great banner. Each paw has a kid’s name.

2010-11-06_069 Erik is way into soccer parties!

2010-11-06_085I thought this was such a cute idea and plan to steal the idea at some point!

Operation Christmas Child!

Time for shoeboxes! After last week’s game Ryan and I headed over to Gay and Tessie’s to pack boxes. They always put together about 80 boxes and we get to help. Ryan did the boxes all by himself and did great. Afterwards we watched several videos showing children receiving shoeboxes and the impact they had on their lives. It was very moving and I could see that it really impacted Ryan. We talked about it all the way home. See it here:
