We found out on Thurs. that Ryan had made the top 5 finalists for the science fair. He was happy and then less happy…when he realized that he would be spending Friday preparing to present again. It was somewhat of a long morning! He presented at 4:26 for 10 minutes. It was a little intimidating. He stood in front of three dads who listened to the presentation and then grilled asked him questions. He did a really nice job. When we went back to the classroom he found out that he had won first place for his third grade class. Third and fourth grade competed in one group for the larger competition. Three fourth graders won that. I am so glad it is over, but we both learned so much and will always remember our first science fair.
He tested the teachers’ bathroom doorknob, the boys’ bathroom doorknob, the girls’ bathroom doorknob, and his classroom’s doorknob to see which had the most bacteria. He predicted it would be the boys’…but alas it was the GIRLS!
We did a test run before we started. I am a total housecleaning failure!
This is what was on our doorknobs! I know! How are my children still alive? Please know that I have since cleaned all the doorknobs and will try to keep them clean(er). Fortunately, Harvey hasn’t put in most of the doorknobs around the house so there aren’t many to touch. (I think that is a positive.)
Guess I better go clean…
