Let’s Go Back

Before I can no longer remember our journey, I better go back and recount our trip home.  On Thursday morning Megan seemed to be feeling a little better.  She had slept most of the night and had held down all of her food, so we went down to the hotel buffet for breakfast.  She ate pretty well so we decided to take a short walk outside to get some fresh, humid air since we had been in the hotel room so much.

When we got back to the hotel she did not want to go back into the hotel room.  I think she thought that was her new home.  We decided to head to the airport even earlier since there was so much more to be distracted by there.  Harv walked her up and down the hallway while I packed things up.  Foster Mom was worried about the car ride, but she fell asleep within a few minutes and slept the entire trip.  Once we got into the airport it was clear that Harvey wasn’t going to be allowed to hold her.  We bought her ticket and checked in our bags.  Now we only had four hours to kill!  We decided to get something to eat.  After a few minutes sitting in the booth, the little girl next door popped up…like a little angel.  They started giggling and we got a first peek since having her of her happy personality.  After the little girl left, Megan crawled down off the seat and WALKED to the cashier with me.  That was the first time she had touched the ground for more than a few seconds since we left Foster Mom.  It was such a relief to see her start to perk up.

2012-07-25_028We found a little playground near our gate and she loved that.  Somehow the time passed.  When we got to our seats on the plane she started to cry.  The guy at the window seat gave ‘the look’.  But her crying only lasted a minute or two and other than the mistake of trying to have Harvey hold her for a little while, she didn’t cry again on the trip.  She slept for about eight hours!  Fortunately, after a couple of hours she unknowingly slept on Harvey most of the trip.  Once we got to the luggage carousel, Asiana brought us the stroller!  I took Megan into the bathroom so I could freshen up a bit and change her clothes.  She was not too happy until…she saw my make-up bag.  She was so happy to dig through that.  After that we washed hands and she wanted to walk all the way in her squeaky shoes to her waiting guests.  Up until we went into the bathroom I was really nervous about having people greet us at the airport, but she warmed right up to everyone.

Copy of 2012-07-26_004 I did not expect her to run right into Ryan’s arms and let him pick her right up.  I couldn’t even get my camera focused.
