Guess Who Is Blogging while Mommy Is Gone?

This is Joseph AKA Ryan, and I will be the guess blogger while Mommy is away.

Guess what did I do while Mommy is not at home?

Leaving on a Jet Plane

I am off tomorrow morning for my cousin’s memorial service in Pennsylvania.  Harvey is on his own for three full days!  (He has lots of help if he wants it).  I’m guessing Ryan will have a harder time than Erik.  I have to get up by 4am so I am off.  (Harv thinks that is sleeping in).

Indoor Soccer

Ryan and I made this fun soccer field.  It’s just a pizza box with tag board and a black marker.

Erik walked out of the bathroom with my shower cap on.  He looked so cute!

Monster update II:

No life to be found!  After school yesterday we stopped at the fish store to see if they sold triop eggs.  The owner said he looked into it but found out that they are ‘aggressive carnivores’.  He said that if you don’t feed them enough they will eat each other.  Interestingly, it made me want them even more.  Usually I walk out of the room if Harvey has a nature show on.  I would rather just assume all of the animals get along out in the wild.  So looks like we’ll have to order some eggs.

Got Scissors?

Along with the sea monsters Ryan got this little guy.  Unlike our monsters, he is growing like, well, grass!  It was time for his first ‘hair cut’…

Looking pretty good, but I may have to get out the tweezers to remove that unwanted ‘hair’ over his eye.  (I should probably take care of my own unwanted hairs first)!

So the socks are really socks!

*Sea Monster Update:

I know there is much angst out there about the sea monsters.  I now know far more about triops than I ever wanted to know.  I have researched the probable causes of unhatched eggs and decided that we probably didn’t have enough light for them.  I promptly moved them under a lamp which I have kept on ever since.  Nothing.  So if there is still no life tomorrow I’ll have to fork over a couple of bucks for more eggs.  Now that I have learned about them I really want to see them in action.

Still Waiting…

The boys were in bed by 7:30 tonight!  We still haven’t totally conquered these colds.  Both Harvey and I felt like something new was hitting us today so hopefully a good night’s sleep will help.

Still no sign of life in our little tank!  Hope those creepy little monsters start moving tomorrow.  Ryan checked them all through the day.

Sea Monsters

Ryan got two red envelopes for Chinese New Year (each with $10).  He has asked to go to the craft store every day since.  Look at what we found!  The ugliest ‘fish’ in the world!!  They look pretty tough so hopefully (I think) they will live a while.  The eggs hatch in 1-2 days so we get to see the action rather quickly.

Ryan finally got to go to a friend’s today.  We had already postponed it a couple of times.  Erik was much happier today and actually went down very easily tonight…hoping for a long sleep!

A Breath of Fresh Air

Boy did the boys need to get out and get some fresh air.  I’ll be polite and say that Erik was grumpy today.  In his defense, he is super congested.  He We did not sleep well last night.  It’s been more than three years weeks since the various illness have hit us.  I hope we get a break after this one!2010-02-16_001 2010-02-16_002  2010-02-16_0052010-02-16_006 2010-02-16_007 2010-02-16_009   The boys had fun playing in the sand.

This was the highlight of their day.  They couldn’t have been more pleased with themselves and I couldn’t be more frightened about what this line of thinking will look like as teenagers! : )

Got Love?

We had a fun morning despite the boys still being sick.  (It got grumpier as they day moved along).

I was SO happy to find these cute plates.  They match the grown-up ones I already have.

2010-02-14_005 Could they be more perfect?!  It’s Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year all wrapped up in cute fortune cookies.

The boys each got a new book.  Of course I found a really cute hedgehog one for me Ryan.

This would pretty much sum up Erik’s day.  He has very runny nose and cough.  He liked the chocolate chip pancakes though.

Gramma  got these socks for the boys.  I wasn’t quite sure what was going to happen…
