This is a public service announcement:

These salmon cakes were FABULOUS!  Erik ate two!  Thanks as usual to Ina Garten for the recipe.  I had to change fix the creamy dill sauce.  I replaced the non-fat yogurt with full fat and used regular mayo.

 

  

While I’m at it…If you are particular about your toothbrush (keeping the gums you have) you may already have a Nimbus.  They are the softest brush I have found and do a great job.  They just came out with a kid’s version.  I don’t know if you have felt your kid’s toothbrush but most of them are really hard.  You have to order online but they are worth it!

Swimming Again

It just hasn’t been a hot summer so we have only gone a couple of times so far.  Our cousins are back from their vacation so hopefully August will involve lots of swimming.  Ryan loves to go and play with them in their pool.  Mommy loves watching, from the chair with my drink in hand!

 

 

 

Erik ventured down to the second stair today.  He hasn’t warmed up to the idea of getting all the way in.

So I have thought about getting a body wave for about three years.  Seriously.  I finally went last week.  Let’s just say that not one person noticed.  I have to go back tomorrow to get it redone because there is no waving.  It’s not that I don’t love a couple of hours off by myself, I would just prefer it be somewhere exciting, like Target. 

Diggin’ It

All of a sudden the old sandbox is all the rage!  The boys and their friends have been having a great time in it.

 

 

Ryan had a great time at VBS today.  It was the perfect amount of time for him to play and for Erik and me to hang out.  Too bad kindergarten isn’t three hours!

We had a great weekend filled with lots of cousins and friends.  We got to visit with cousins from out of town, cousins back from vacation, friends moving far away, and friends at their house and our house.  We’re pooped!  Tomorrow is VBS.  It was quite the hit last year so hopefully Ryan will enjoy it again this year.

Only Took 5 Years

  We’ve talked about a savings account for Ryan since he was born and continued the conversation since Erik.  We finally got to it.  Another check off ‘the list’.  (This one is in my head!)

 

 

 

 

Yep!  He got a lollipop!  Do you see him actually sitting in a stroller?!!  Some friends gave us their old one and turns out he is pretty good in it (especially with candy in hand) for a period of time.  He just didn’t go for the bucket seat in the umbrella stroller.  The zoo is back on!

The Last of the Fresh Air

Much to his delight, Ryan found a little huge bug by the duck pond:

  

 

 Grandma was so gracious to let us bring him home!  She even found a jar for him.
