Erik turned 20 months old yesterday! He is such a fun little guy. He is starting to talk up a storm. He does everything Ryan does (sometimes kinda scary). The tantrums have eased up, but he is a feisty one. He says “Mama” all the time now.

It was a special Mother’s Day having Erik dedicated this morning. The pastor who married Harvey and me and who dedicated Ryan, prayed for Erik and our family this morning. We got to share a little bit about our journey to Erik. Erik was a champ and even let the pastor hold him. : )
We’re off to Harvey’s cousin’s for dinner!
Our pediatrician called this afternoon…just take a wild guess at who is allergic to dairy and eggs! So until we see the allergist no eggs or milk for either one! I was just getting used to those little fishy crackers hanging around! On a better note, Erik’s skin looks so much better.
Tomorrow we are dedicating Erik at church. It will be a sweet Mother’s day! Just a few years ago I couldn’t get myself to church on Mother’s Day. We went to the zoo. It was too hard seeing so many babies and pregnant gals having just lost ours. It’s the hardest day of the year for a lot of gals who want to be moms. Remember to pray for any that you know tomorrow.
Happy Birthday to our little Mary. Since she is having a ‘princess’ party (no boys)she invited her boy friends to play at Chuck E. Cheese and one boy in particular was quite happy about it!
We hadn’t been in quite a while since the last time I spent most of the time trying to convince him that the C.E.C. on the stage was not real and could not get down off the stage and get him. The rest of the time I spent crawling up the tube thing trying to get him, in a frantic state, down from it.
HAPPY…unless you put a token in it and it started to move!

We were off to the doctor’s again today. I couldn’t help myself…I had to count up how many times our little family has been to the doctor’s (not including the dentist) since we brought Erik home. 28 times! That seems like a lot since we don’t have any major issues, which by the way, I am extremely grateful for. After our appointment today, I get to add two more appointments in the next week or so. So keeping our pediatrician and allergist (now for two boys) that are twenty-five minutes away is seeming less attractive.
Erik’s eczema has gotten so bad this week I took him in to get it looked at. The doctor said it looked like he had a bacterial infection so we got steroids and an antibiotic. The doctor agreed that he should see the allergist so she sent me down to get his blood drawn…again! The gal got him all set up and just when I thought she must have at least 3 vials (I thought it would be best if I didn’t look) she says, “I can’t get anything, I have to do the other arm.” “What? How could it take that long to figure out it wouldn’t work?” So she undid the band and set up the other arm, giving Erik time to work himself into another mess. After an equally lengthy attempt, “I can’t get this one either.” I just said, “We’re going home.” Now I get to go back and do it all over, and then we’ll have to go see our Dr. and see what they find out. I think it’s time for bed!

So the convention was overwhelming. I went from “piece of cake, I can do this no problem” to “what on earth was I thinking” and then repeated that cycle throughout the day. Hope you weren’t planning on a decision!
