The Years are Short

The boys are finished with school.  We will continue to do some more work together, but our schedule will be a lot easier.  I read a quote I hadn’t heard before, “The days are long, but the years short.”  I thought that summed it up perfectly for me.  I think having the kids home so much makes it seem long sometimes, and yet I now have a 5th grader!  My little Erik is very ready to be a second grader. In just three months Megan will start transitional kindergarten.  Of course I didn’t get my school choice, so I have to drive twice as far in the opposite direction of the boys’ school to get her and then go get the carpool gang.  Glad it is only two days a week.  Megan will go to kindergarten at our neighborhood school next year.

Yep, the years are short!

In the Squat

We are winding down the baseball season.  Erik only has two more games.  He has really enjoyed it.  Next year will be more fun because he will get to pitch and play catcher, which seems to be his new interest.

Time to Relax

Summer’s comin’

Erik: “Mom, there’s something I really want for my birthday!”

Me:  “What is it?”

Erik: “It’s called an ‘Etch-A-Sketch’  Have you ever heard of those?

Me: : )  “Yeah, I’ve heard of that.”

Tomorrow is the boys’ last day of school.  I have to get the party games planned for Erik’s class…almost there!

Compromise

Megan loves to get her hair cut.  Haircut=lollipop.  She always begs for a buzz like Ryan.  Here’s my compromise.

It’s ultimately about the lollipop…but we’re both happy!

Mother’s Day 2015

It’s always good to start the day with the smell of waffles cooking…especially when you’re in bed.  We went to late church because it was my day to work in the toddler room.  We didn’t get home until 12:30.  I really didn’t want to spend the day at home.  I’m here A LOT.  So we sat around until almost 2 before we finally made a decision.  We packed everyone up and headed to the boardwalk.

Megan almost lost her mind when she saw all of the rides.  We hadn’t been there in a long time.  This is her kind of place.  It was pretty crowded, but the lines weren’t bad at all.

This one he did win.

This was Erik’s first time doing these games.  He loved it.  He won this one.

And this one.

So as we are finishing up I say to Harvey, I want a picture of me and my kids with the beautiful ocean behind us for Mother’s Day.

Yeah, should have done it right then…

A Good Day

Image00003

Looks like we are going to have another catcher.

Image00004 This is what our house looks like when the Warriors and Giants are playing at the same time.  I think our remote started smoking.  It was a good day!
