Ryan was thrilled to see that Grandma had made him a special birthday cake. She seems to know him…
A journal for friends and family to follow our life with our boys, Ryan and Erik, and our little girl Megan.
On Thursday, (super prepared I am) I asked Harvey if he could cut out “Star Wars” out of fondant for me so I could put it on a sheet cake for Ryan’s party tonight:
He made this instead.
Not bad for a first cake!
I’ll share more tomorrow.
It’s true. You’re ten. You are such a kind and thoughtful boy. You are liked and enjoyed by everyone you meet. What a joy it has been these past ten years. You have a tender heart for the Lord and a genuine love for His Word. As much as I have loved these early years, I am even more excited about all that is ahead. I love watching you grow, to see your interests expand (a little outside of baseball) and seeing you become more and more independent. You bring so much love and life into our home and family. We all love you so deeply. I couldn’t be more proud to be your mom.
Love you Joe!
Mom
So it rained just enough to cancel the outdoor egg hunt. Have to say I didn’t completely mind not filling/hiding several hundred eggs. We went ahead and hid eggs inside for the little ones.
It was once again time for our annual Peep contest. Hard to compete with the “Vietnam War” from last year!
Here’s our back yard…
Of course there was ‘fire’ inside to roast the marshmallows. The movie projector has a light in it too…so you can watch the movie of course!
My niece and nephew went digital. They made two movies and they were fabulous! First was Batpeep and then there was Romeo and Julipeep. They won the coveted “Peeples’ Choice” award.
The kid entries:
This was from earlier in the weekend…
So I need a little work on icing cakes…but it was still cute.
