Halloween ‘15
Another Halloween has come and gone. Last year was a little sad since Ryan didn’t want to go out. He was tired of getting a bag of candy he couldn’t eat. I was so happy when he got a birthday invitation. He still got a bag of candy he mostly had to give away, but he had a great time with friends. Megan had a little parade at school and that was cute. On Halloween she had Awana so I took her around the neighborhood early. She was in heaven. I took her to her class and then raced back to take my little stormtrooper around the neighborhood. By the time I got back it was time to go get Megan. Boy was I glad to sit down and pick through the loot!
Harvey loves when I get my great ideas the day before the event!
He was a hit though!

“5”
It happened! Megan finally turned 5. She had been asking on a daily basis…for many days.
Her big brother wanted to make her breakfast.
It was ‘college day’ at school. Harv lucked out. We don’t have any Cal Poly shirts. (where they will all be going of course)
Megan’s class has 20 birthdays between Sept. 1 and Dec. 1 so the teacher does a cute little ‘party’ for each student at the beginning of class. They all loved it, especially the birthday girl.
“Happy Birthday” our little birthday girl! We love your fun and outgoing personality. We can’t wait to have many wonderful times with our 5 year old!

It’s on!
Slowly, slowly…it is coming together. After two years the air hockey table can finally be used again. Hopefully the faucets and doors will go in soon. I can’t wait to get ready in one bathroom instead of two.

It’s fall…
Erik is playing fall ball. He was so excited to pitch. He got one strike-out. He needs a lot more practice throwing with batters in the box. He’s pretty good throwing to Ryan, but throws a little (maybe a lot) outside with batters. Another 10lbs wouldn’t hurt either!
Ryan’s team finally won a tournament! I had to race from Erik’s game to get to Ryan’s. We got there at the end of the 6th (final) inning. It was worth the $5 to get in! After several close ones, it made it even more special. The bummer however, is that the win moved them up to AAA. We may not see another win for a while!

Growing
Yes, I do have other children, but I’m still stuck on cute puppy photos…
She’s 12 1/2 pounds now. I can’t believe how fast she is growing. Only a little over a month until she can go anywhere. She’s ready for puppy class now. That should be interesting.

Homeschooling…with a puppy
The trainer came yesterday. We couldn’t have written the check for an additional four sessions any quicker. The trainer was great and had so many helpful things for us to do with Josey. So I have been a little worried that our 25-40lb. dog might be on the larger side…the trainer thought Josey was pretty big. She said her 70lb. dog was her size at 9 weeks. Oh how I hope she’s an early grower! Apparently, she is not my only strong-willed child. The trainer said she has had tougher ones (code for “this one is a doozy”) but that Josey was up there. I think I have my hands full, very full!
Good thing she’s so cute!
(Every time I see that rabbit I jump thinking it’s a real dead squirrel.)

Growing
Josey has been home for two weeks now. I think we have pretty much used up all of our puppy knowledge…and I’m not sure how good that was to begin with. Fortunately, she is a good little puppy. Sleeping is great, she can come and sit most, some of the time. Today she learned to paw…I think she’s a lefty! But every day I think she has the potty thing down… she doesn’t. She is biting some. She has short spurts of it. It’s not terrible, but I can tell she is getting busier and more into things and the nipping will get worse. Time to get a little help.
She is so much bigger than when we got her. I think she may end up with the longest legs in the family. She feels so much heavier than when we got her. I hope the breeder was right when she guessed 40 lbs. Everyone says she has big paws.
She’s a goldendoodle. Her mom is a beautiful cream golden retriever and her dad is a miniature poodle. After two weeks the only hair I have found is a very small amount in her brush. No one in our family has had any allergy issues with her. So if her parents can figure out how to properly train her, she is going to be a wonderful family pet!

It’s a girl!
Our little Josey is home! We brought her home on the 12th. She has already gained a pound and a half. She is very sweet and calm (most of the time.) I can tell she is getting a little feistier though. She has slept through the night since the beginning. We think she is just great!
