Erik wanted an alligator party this year. They don’t sell ‘real’ alligator party supplies. The only alligator plates they have are cute, friendly alligators with the letter ‘A’ on them. Erik likes the mean ones. So knowing that I had a class all day Saturday I needed a little help on the cake. I went to Safeway. They aren’t super big on creativity. “I can do what is in the binder.” So we went with the fisherman cake and added a few extras from the toy store and the pet store. Erik loved it!

Erik has seemed four for a while now. I swear something changed while we were in Korea. When I saw him and talked to him in the airport I felt like he had really grown up. Must be something in Gramma’s water! He couldn’t be happier or prouder about being a four year old, and we couldn’t be happier or prouder to be his parents.
After teaching second grade for many years, I finally have a second grader. I can hardly believe it! Ryan had his first day of school on Thursday. He really liked it, and I think it’s going to be a better fit than the school he went to last year. It’s a long day. He starts at 7:30 and ends at 3:00. Erik asked all through the day when Ryan was coming home.
