We’re Home!

We had a great trip to Grandma and Grandpa’s.  I’ll have to go through the photos more carefully tomorrow.  It was wonderful to breathe the fresh air and to hear nothing but little creatures outside.  It was TOASTY!  We got home and I had to put on a sweatshirt it was so cool  here.

‘Done is Beautiful’

The boys spent the morning watching the bobcat move out all of our dirt from the playset area.

It’s done!  This is my last second big scrapbook.  I like how it turned out, but I started running out of steam (and money) by the end.  Here are a few pages for your viewing pleasure:

2010-07-22_018I love when people write cute little snippets to go with the photos…I wish someone had done that for Ryan!

I think I am going back to a photobook for the next project.  I want to start putting together Erik’s lifebook for his adoption journey, but that will have to wait until I recover.

Scrapbooking

I’m powering through Ryan’s scrapbook tonight.  I had already started collecting a few things for a baseball album before I got the great photo book idea.  Anywho, I am tired of the pile on my dining room table.  Hoping to finish it tomorrow night.  I know you want to see it! : )

Banned!

Ryan has been banned from hitting in the backyard.  He finally it one over the fence.  Fortunately there was no screeching of tires or crashes but the ball did pay a price…

Harvey went and got the ball and Ryan was thrilled to see someone’s tire marks on it.  Shouldn’t he be playing in the sand anyway?!!

I’m Back!

Sorry Grandmas for the absence!  We had some friends visit this weekend and really enjoyed seeing them.  As soon as my friend got here I made her go to Costco with me to pick up my very first (but definitely not last) photo book!  It turned out so cute!

Costco’s site is very limited in what you can do but Snapfish is so much more expensive.  Anyone know any other affordable choices?

Our cherry tomatoes are starting to ripen and the boys LOVE them.

So I’m thinking we overplanted our little straw bales!

2010-07-19_013Our neighbors are digging a basement (that’s what Ryan’s doing above as well) and then a new house on top.  I haven’t trimmed this bush because it totally blocks the view from my kitchen window and is so much more attractive than across the street.

At Ryan’s graduation his teachers and I were talking about all of our bruises and dings from working in the classroom and I mentioned how I always hit my hand and knuckles on my dryer drawer when I toss laundry from the other side of the room into the dryer.  I told them how I wished the door was on the other side so it wasn’t in the way.  I could tell from the look in their eyes that I was the only person, maybe in the whole world, that didn’t know that you can switch the door to the other side.  (Oh, other than the previous owners that is.)  Well I’m not one to let a little pride get in the way of a safer laundry experience so I finally got Harv to make the switcheroo and I have total laundry bliss now.

Summer Days

It’s Out of Here!

Ryan’s days of hitting in the backyard are nearly over.  He hit four ‘grand slams’ over the garage and into the garden this afternoon.  Seeing as we have a busy road loaded with unsuspecting drivers behind our fence…

His love for the game has only intensified since t-ball ended.  He plays out back most days and watches the game whenever his dad has one on.
