Into the Garage When Someone Wasn’t Looking!

Ryan was eager to play with the Legos he got for his birthday.  He got this cute little guy that he could do on his own.  He had to wait for his dad to do the new cherry picker.

YIPPEE!

On Tuesday Erik drank his milk out of a sippy cup in the morning so I went with it and while he took his nap I cleaned out the drawer and put all the bottles in the garage.  So far, so incredibly, painfully slowly, he is drinking out of a cup.

Today we gave pastels a try.  Ryan loved them of course…they are smooth, creamy, and messy!  He had fun blending colors.  We’ll have to keep working with them.

I found a great, easy bread recipe last night so Ryan and I got started on it today.  We’ll see how it goes tomorrow…it’s resting.

This afternoon we headed over to the bowling alley for Ryan’s party.  The kids did great.  After a little while they started high-fiving each other and cheering each other on.

Ryan started with me helping him, then moved on to rolling himself, and then started throwing it crazily himself…

 Happy Birthday Big Guy!

(Erik stayed home with his auntie and cousin.  He loved all of the attention and didn’t even notice we were gone.  Looks like that is going to happen again!)

Thanks Auntie Betty for making cupcakes again for the kids!  It means so much to Ryan to get to eat the same thing as the other kids.

Plan B

We had big plans to join friends at a fun local zoo/amusement park…I could see as we neared the parking lot that it was almost full.  Then I noticed the line of cars!  I drove a little farther to do a u-turn and decided it was going to be a drive-by.  I counted 48 cars lined up to turn into the zoo, plus the cars in line  must have been over 60 altogether.  When will I listen to that little voice that tells me to stay away from these places on Fridays and vacation breaks?!  Poor Ryan!  After having to retreat from our hike last Friday I decided we better find something else to do.  So we went to a little museum by our old house.
