The tiles in the back entryway have started to break and injure unsuspecting toes on their way here or there. As with everything done in this house, the floor was never leveled so now the breakage. Underneath it all are red outdoor tiles. The two doors were once outside doors. The time has finally come to redo (at least an interim redo) of the floor and hopefully the walls and doors. It’s a mess right now, but makes the fireplace less noticeable!

Can hardly believe Ryan is 13U now. He has a new team and they played their first tournament last weekend. They look strong. For the first time we have a player that the OTHER team says, “that’s a big boy” when he comes up. And that boy can hit really far. He has the same coach as last year. This coach took the top players from the old team and brought in the rest. It feels great to be done with the old team for a variety of reasons. Being a stronger team is just a bonus. Ryan will be playing more outfield. Weird not seeing him behind the plate! I guess not having these teens throwing real heat at him will be okay. He was born to make sliding catches. I think he’ll have fun out there. Of course that means we had to buy another mitt!
Bat boy loves the new team too! He is playing fall ball with his all-star team from last season. He’ll have several tournaments as well. Hopefully they won’t conflict too often!
Josey has a pretty nice life. The only thing she knows she is missing out on is sleeping on Ryan’s bed. She is not allowed in the bedrooms, but every once in a while (or more) a door is left open and she heads straight for his bed. This time she lucked out and found some boys laying on it. I think she’s laughing at me.
