It’s Summer

Swim lessons always make it finally feel like summer.  We have come a long way from the tough love teaching Erik needed just a short time ago.  He loved lessons this time around and asked to do another session next week.  Since Ryan has lacrosse camp and Megan has VBS it works out great.

Moving things along

Harvey started on the bathroom again!  All of the wainscoating is up and calked.  Now he has to get it all painted.  Next is the vanity!!  That will take a couple of weeks, but then the boys can get their air hockey table back once the vanity top is where it is supposed to be!

It’s Time

The plums are ready!  Our little plum tree did pretty well considering how dry it’s been.

Pay Up Pence

Pence owes me a new fence!

Image00006

One of a million hideous things around here that needs replacing, but I don’t want to do it until we can do it right…It goes nicely with the broken window in the front that Joe Bumgarner broke 4 years ago with his fastball!

Last Game

Erik’s last game was on Saturday.  I can’t believe he has finished two years of baseball.  He is definitely ready to move up to the next level.  He and Ryan will be honing his skills all summer.

Erik’s coach couldn’t make it to the last game, so he asked Harvey to pitch.  I thought he did okay the first inning, especially after watching the other team’s coach, but he handed off the duties to Joe Bumgarner.  Every one of our players hit off Ryan his first inning.  I don’t think he struck anyone out.  It was so much better than the dads that the other team asked Ryan to pitch for them too.  He ended up pitching the rest of the game for both teams.  He is going to be a great coach one day!  Next year he can be a field umpire.

The tattoo is a nice touch.

Ryan has one more tournament this weekend and then his 10U season is over!  We get a whole month off!  In August he will be 11U.  They are starting to get scary.  One of our 11U pitchers is throwing 65mph.

A Little Ballerina

Megan had an in-house performance on Saturday.  It has been somewhat of a struggle with the classes so I wasn’t sure how it would go.  Turns out she just needs a large audience!  She really did well.  Ironically, her friend who is a natural and loves class got some stage fright and did not go on.  I didn’t get great pictures since I was trying to get some video, but here are a few…
