Family time

It was so nice to go to the game together and not split up between the boys’ games this week.  Harvey is helping with the team, so I am still in charge of Megan by myself.  That’s actually a little more challenging than it sounds.  Fortunately, I am a top notch parent.

Run!!!

So we got to watch Erik’s first inning.  Everyone on his team got a hit right away.  Several didn’t quite know what to do after that…

It was in the 80s, which was nice in our wedding clothes!

This one is too cute!

My kids know where the camera is!! : )

Tomorrow is a nice and simple day.  Megan has ballet in the morning and we have 1 baseball game!  The whole family gets to go watch Erik.  I am so happy with fewer games this season.

Parenting 101

Our neighbor (and previous teammate) was a guest player the last two tournaments.  We are hoping he joins our team.  He can play any position well…and we’re in serious need of one several of those players!  And I wouldn’t mind a carpool buddy!

Bad Uncle

I was talking to my brother last week and mentioned Erik was having his first game and that we were going to miss the last half.  He offered to stay for the game and then to take Erik out to do something fun.  Well that checked off a big one in all of my planning for our weekend...YEAH!

Apparently he decided this would be a teaching time:

He was sweet enough to take video as well.  It seems Ryan lucked out that he doesn’t use a top sheet!  I’ve been told that everyone has a ‘bad uncle’ and he decided to fill that spot.  Knowing his extensive high school rap sheet makes me a little nervous!

Kinda Weird

Erik’s opening day was on Saturday.  It was really well done this year…but his level doesn’t play so it was “SOOOO boring.”

I finally went and got a haircut.  I really liked the highlights I got last year, so I had her do that again…I’m pretty much assuming the walk-in she took while my hair was setting worked against me.   I’ll quote the first two reactions when I got home, “Whoa!” and “Kinda weird.”  Feeling awesome.

‘Tis the Season

Erik had his first practice on Thursday.  He didn’t get dressed quite as early this time since he has a full day of school now and I have to drive Ryan to practice right after school.  We have fully entered the tricky scheduling period of parenting.  We started figuring out next week this morning.  Ryan has a tournament, Megan ballet, and Erik his first game.  That we can manage, though we have to divide and conquer, but we have to throw in a wedding that starts during Erik’s game.  The kids are just going to the reception, but I have to have someone watch them and then I need to get them cleaned up before the reception.  Only six more years until Ryan can drive! : )

Ryan had to play this morning.  8am.  Which was 7am to his body and 6:15 to start warm-ups!  They won the first game but got clobbered the second game.  He went over to watch the 14U for our organization after he was done.  They always let him be the batboy.  He’s still there…apparently they think he’s a little lucky for them in the dugout.  Baseball players are like that!
