1st Day of Vacation

Today was the boys’ first day of vacation.  Megan has a few more days of preschool.  All three decided to start the week with fevers, coughs, some napping, and a whole lot of neediness.  On the upside, my aunt’s pecan tassies arrived just in time! : )

I’m off to ponder going to bed or cleaning the kitchen…

One Day

For one day I was so ahead…I had all of our long distance packages at the post office by December 2.  That is a record!  And then, it fell apart.  I have never been this far behind.  Something with the timing of Thanksgiving (and a castle) threw me way off.  Maybe it’s the rain.  I’m a drought kind of person.  The kids keep looking in the advent calendar hoping I have finally put something in one of the boxes…or perhaps there is one little candy left over from last year.  Erik looked a little hopeful, but it was just lint.  Ryan has been asking to help put up the houses.  I was hoping to get away with just the carolers, but it seems I am the only one who thinks they are fabulous.  While Megan napped, Ryan and I made headway this afternoon on the village.  We decided the home improvement center wasn’t quite Christmas-y enough for our tree this year so we went to Whole Foods instead (picked up lunch too!)  It took over a week, but we started putting up the decorations yesterday.  So we are getting close to being on track again.  The boys are off from school.  They are ready to do some art and play lots of games.

Middle Ages

The fourth grade studies the Middle Ages.  The big project is The CASTLE!  I’m surprised we were able to celebrate Thanksgiving this year!

Loves to be up front!

It took about two weeks longer than you think it took! : )

I’m pretty sure my bathroom could have been finished in this construction time, but I would never mention that…

well, I might.

Megan Time

Megan loves her brothers…but she really enjoys when they go to school and I have time to do more with her.

OCC 2014

Yesterday we got to work at a drop-off center.  The boys look forward to this every year.  I love to watch them at work.  They just love being a part of Operation Christmas Child.  It was extra fun to bring the boxes we collected at school.

It’s shoebox time!  A couple of weeks ago the boys got to go build shoeboxes at a shoebox party.  They look forward to it every year.

Ryan has brought a friend the last two years.  We had to leave early for his friend’s soccer game.  His friend said he would be skipping soccer next year!

This year the boys’ school decided to participate in Operation Christmas Child.  The boys got to be part of the presentation and loved it!

Got Strikes?

These are a few pictures from the last tournament.  Ryan had a great game yesterday. He was 5 for 5 at bat and made a double play playing shortstop, which isn’t too bad for a lefty.  Today was not so good.  They were eliminated after game one.  Only one more tournament for the year.  It will be nice to have a little time off.  And by little I mean…until January!

Halloween

This was my first Halloween at home!  Harvey took the littles out and I stayed home with Ryan who wanted to stay home this year.  I was a little sad that he is getting old enough to opt out of such things, but I get that going door to door collecting candy that you can only eat about 10% of isn’t that great anymore.  He loved giving it out though and I loved sitting home in a warm house!  Here’s our little Doc McStuffins and her friend Commander Fox:
