We gladly headed over to my brother’s house on Father’s Day! It is finally getting hot around here and the boys were all excited for some cousin time and the pool. Erik has not been interested in the water so I was thrilled that he spent over an hour in it with my niece.

We celebrated with Auntie Gay and Auntie Tess: both of their birthdays, Ryan’s graduation, Erik’s Adoption day, and Father’s Day. Whew!
Buster and Posey were set free today. And so ends kindergarten! We started with a bang and ended with kind of a whimper.
The room is done. Trim is finished, Harv put up some sheers for me, and we replaced the hideous fan and the hall light fixture. I gave it my all well, I went with the first color I tried, but didn’t quite come up with the silvery blue I was dreaming of. I am super happy with how it turned out though. Ryan came in and said, “I really like our blue room, there’s no gray at all.” So, it’s blue. And fresh. And done!
No more ceiling fan (means heat wave is on its way!)
It seems we are going to be able to put off getting a dog for a little while longer:
I couldn’t be more exhausted! Not on my ‘list’ but I painted the living room today. I have a phobia of ‘baby blue’. It turned out a little more blue than gray but it looks nice and it is about a thousand times better than the peach I have lived with since we moved in. Now I have to do the trim…just thinking about that makes me tired. If I can get that done this week I just might add the hallway to my list. Of course now I have to paint the bookcases because they don’t go with the new paint. I don’t see it happening once the little one comes so I better get to bed so I can get to work (oh, and finish up kindergarten.)
The baby’s room is painted! I couldn’t be happier with the color. I ordered some curtains, so once I Harvey puts them up I’ll put some pictures of her room up. So now that the room is done I have an irresistible urge to paint the living room. So irresistible I went and got three paint samples before dinner tonight. Knowing that it is going to be a long time before we do any real renovations, I just need to cover these peach walls. I wouldn’t be surprised if a couple of hallways find a little color too!
Last night was Ryan’s last game. They got to play on the big field. The kids loved it, except for those who decided to slide into home…the dirt hurts! Harvey and I organized the party so we had to leave a little early to set up on the other side of the park. That was when Ryan had his big double play! He caught a ball and then threw to second to get someone out. I’ve gotten to hear the replay several times though.
