We lost the battle with Josey’s hair. The mats were too bad so they shaved her. She seems half the size.

So baseball has been a hit for Megan. Today Harvey got to go watch her play. She wants her brothers to cheer her on but they keep having their own games. Harvey is at his 5th game of the day right now. Looking forward to a couple of weeks off this month.
It’s finally Megan’s turn! She had her first practice a couple of weeks ago. She did so great! She could not have been happier and couldn’t wait for her first real game. She’s a GIANT!
I have hated our fireplace since the moment I saw it. I’m not sure if it’s the marble-ish tiles, pink grout, the varying widths of grout, the brass and black doors, or the over zealous use of silicone…
So last night around midnight I made another search of mantles. I saved a picture of one I like a lot. After church I showed Harvey the picture. He liked it too and I think jokingly, told me to chip a piece off to see what was under. We have done enough in this house to know nothing was done correctly and it will be a big pain for us, but you can’t let that stop you! So at 1pm, with no real plan…
For a brief moment I thought I was going to find beautiful brick and not have to replace it all.
I think it already looks better than the old one! Unfortunately the brick isn’t pretty or done well so we will have to redo that. It is going to be so beautiful though! Harvey just loves when I stay up and look up stuff on the computer!
Baseball season has started. This year we have 3 players and 5 teams. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t part of that discussion.

Megan has been baking to her heart’s delight the last couple of days.
It finally happened!
She had been wiggling it like crazy all week. No tears. Just pure delight! She lucked out with a better tooth fairy than the boys.
The kids headed back to school today. I finally went back to the pool. Unfortunately all of the folks who made new year resolutions to get into shape were already there. It was tough to find enough room to do my laps. There is some serious spacial etiquette deficiencies at our Y. Not sure why one would think walking back and forth in the path of multiple lap swimmers seems reasonable. Hopefully the resolutions won’t last…
Megan has grown a lot this year academically. She met all of her beginning of the year benchmarks. She is getting some extra support at school for social skills and that has been very helpful. For now, the public school has been a great fit for her. It is that time of year that we need to make decisions for the boys schooling next year.
